Quadrifoglio Group presents the first Sustainability Report

22.04.2021

A project which shows the Group’s commitment to pursue economic, environmental and social sustainability, underpinned by the aims of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, in order to contribute to a bigger global change initiative.

Quadrifoglio Group, despite the situation caused by the Covid-19 sanitary emergency, introduces the first Sustainability Report, the result of the company’s path started a few years ago and characterized by the need of being sustainable embracing specific values, protecting the environment and providing products made with renewable and recyclable raw materials guaranteeing certified production processes.

The report, written and published in five different languages, as expression of a strong international approach, summarizes the values, the commitments and the results of 2019 that come from the Group’s activity in Italy and in over 80 countries worldwide. This process has actively involved the entire company Organization, complying with the national and international regulations to pursue economic, environmental and social sustainability underpinned by the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Quadrifoglio Group, aware of the importance of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the need for important decisions by the business world, has defined specific goals and drawn up a sustainability plan which focuses on:

  • Good Health and Well-being (3rd goal): in the last years, the Group has been trying to constantly rise the wellness level of Human Resources, with the aim of improving and increasing its assets and competitiveness.
  • Responsible Consumption and Production (12th goal): thanks to the fact that 40% of Quadrifoglio Group’s wooden products are FSC™ - Forest Stewardship Council- certified, it is possible to produce solutions with a lower impact in terms of consumption of natural resources and with the awareness that it could contribute to maintaining and improving general socio-economic well-being. Another distinctive feature is that 65% of the raw materials used by Quadrifoglio Sistemi d’Arredo SpA are of recycled origin. This reduces the overall pressure on the environment compared to purchasing only virgin raw materials.
  • Climate Action (13th goal): the production hub of the Group is highly technological and innovative; the installation of a photovoltaic plant consisting of 4.060 solar panels, allows the company to produce 1MW of clean energy, supplying about 40% of the electricity demand and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, feeding energy back into the grid when not consumed

“Our first Sustainability Report was born during a social and economic time of great uncertainty and difficulty due to the pandemic. This critical situation has pointed out even more the need for interconnection between economic, environmental and social aspects, that we have sized as a great opportunity. We believe that sustainability and circularity of processes will soon have to be a conditio sine qua non of every human activity, a necessary aspect for saving the planet and safeguarding future generations - claims Alessandro Cia, Quadrifoglio Group’s CEO – This is why the company continues to evolve in terms of sustainability, pursuing ambitious purposes such as extending FSC™ certification to almost all products, being more active in Vendor Rating, and applying eco-design principles to its entire product range”.

The Quadrifoglio Group’s Sustainability Report, written together with the consulting firm Anteo Srl, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice’s spin-off, has been realized in accordance with the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards, which provides a clear view of the material issues of the Group, their impact and the generated value in terms of sustainability, study and creation of quality products, that lead to quality environments.

Therefore, the future commitment of the Group is well defined: being increasingly active in the achievement of responsible practices and in the integration of additional sustainability factors.
